JCN Calls Out Front Group Opposing Credit Card Relief for Main Street

The phony organization is peddling a narrative that would harm the small businesses it claims to support.

Washington, D.C. (May 18, 2026)—Today, the Job Creators Network (JCN) criticized efforts by the so-called “Small Business Payments Alliance” to derail bipartisan legislation aimed at lowering soaring credit card “swipe fees” for small businesses. The hidden charges have become the second-highest operating cost for Main Street—hardly the minor inconvenience the Small Business Payments Alliance would have you believe.

Polling from the Job Creators Network Foundation (JCNF) shows an overwhelming majority of small business owners (83 percent) support federal policies to rein in credit card “swipe fees.” The Credit Card Competition Act would introduce more competition into the payments arena, delivering over $17 billion in savings to Main Street and consumers annually via the free market.

Alfredo Ortiz, CEO of the Job Creators Network, released the following statement:

“Rather than speaking for Main Street, the Small Business Payments Alliance speaks for the big banks and credit card giants that profiteers off it. Our polling clearly shows overwhelming support among small businesses for the Credit Card Competition Act, legislation that would restore free market mechanisms to lower ‘swipe fees.’ Politicians shouldn’t be swayed by Big Finance’s latest scare tactic.”
