Higher Income, Lower Unemployment: Don’t Screw It Up!

Job Creators Network gives Dems another chance to walk back their pledge to repeal the tax cuts following another round of good news

Washington, DC (March 1, 2018) – The Job Creators Network (JCN) today called on congressional Democrats to reconsider their pledge to repeal the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act following the release of data by the Commerce Department showing the highest rate of income growth in five years.

“Americans had substantially more to spend on their own needs and priorities in January because of the tax cuts,” said JCN CEO Alfredo Ortiz. “It’s time to take this issue off the table as a political football.

“There are plenty of other issues for them to fight over in the fall,” he continued. “What’s happening in the economy is a blessing for millions of average Americans and small businesses, and that should be a source of bipartisan unity.”

Ortiz has been asking Democrats all over the country whether they agree with their party’s leadership that the tax cuts should be repealed. So far, he hasn’t gotten an answer.

“We’ve been asking this question publicly, trying to get Democrats on the record on whether they agree with Nancy Pelosi that the tax cuts should be repealed. So far, it’s been crickets.”

Job Creators Network launched a national campaign last month called Tax Cuts Work, aimed at educating Americans on the effects of the tax cuts.

“There’s too much political noise out there,” said Ortiz. “There’s lots of good economic reporting out there to show that the tax cuts are working, but it’s not seeping into the political debate. Our goal is to cut through the noise so that Americans see how the tax cuts are benefiting them and their communities.”
