Help Wanted: JCN Says Labor Report Shows Strong Economy

Washington, DC (July 6, 2018) – The federal Employment Report released moments ago shows a red-hot labor market in which qualified workers are in strong demand, especially among small businesses, said the Job Creators Network today.

“This economy is a dual-edged sword for small business owners,” said Alfredo Ortiz, President and CEO of the Job Creators Network. “On one hand, consumer confidence is high, and Americans are feeling great about the economy. That’s driving demand. On the other hand, it’s getting tougher for businesses to find workers.”

The Labor Department reported this morning that nonfarm payroll rose by 213,000 in June, better than analysts’ expectations another strong signal that the labor market isn’t keeping up with demand.

“The demand for labor is very intense,” said Ortiz. “Small businesses in every sector are clamoring for employees and they’re offering higher compensation, so it’s a good time to be in the job market.”
