GDP GREW AT AN ANNUAL RATE OF 6.9% IN 4TH QUARTER, JOB CREATORS NETWORK REACTS

Washington, DC (January 27, 2022) – Today, the Bureau of Economic Analysis announced that Gross Domestic Product (GDP) rose at a 6.9 percent annual rate in the fourth quarter of 2021.

Alfredo Ortiz, President and CEO of the Job Creators Network (JCN), released the following statement: 

“There are plenty of reasons today’s GDP number isn’t as good as President Biden would have you believe. We were down 22.4 million jobs at the height of the pandemic.  There was nowhere to go but up.  Biden did not create this GDP growth and he is still down about 3.6 million jobs since the start of the pandemic. Spending money we don’t have is creating massive inflation and paying people to stay home exacerbated the problem. So when Biden began his presidency the economy had its foot on the accelerator. Biden’s policies have effectively kept one foot on the brake at the same time. The last thing we need is BBB-light.”
