FIRST-TIME JOBLESS CLAIMS HIT 353,000, JOB CREATORS NETWORK REACTS
The Department of Labor revealed the number of first-time unemployment claims was 353,000 last week.
Alfredo Ortiz, President and CEO of the Job Creators Network (JCN), released the following statement:
“Led by America’s small businesses, we are primed for a strong recovery – if only the Democrats would get out of the way. Week after week, the Biden Administration and the Democrats in Congress take action making it harder for small businesses to grow and hire. This week alone, House Democrats passed a rule enabling them to immediately begin work on a massive $3.5 trillion ‘human infrastructure’ bill. This bill is on top of the $1.2 trillion ‘infrastructure in name only’ bill the Senate passed and the $1.9 trillion American Rescue Plan that President Biden signed into law in March. The net result is historic inflation and a national worker shortage. The ‘Biden pay cut’ will worsen if the ‘human infrastructure bill becomes law. JCN will continue to oppose the Democrats’ reckless spending spree – including any extension of the unemployment benefits in September. Fiscal discipline is essential to taming inflation and motivating workers to rejoin the workforce. That is the key to our recovery.”
