FIRST-TIME JOBLESS CLAIMS HIT 348,000, JOB CREATORS NETWORK REACTS

The Department of Labor revealed the number of first-time unemployment claims was 348,000 last week.

Alfredo Ortiz, President and CEO of the Job Creators Network (JCN), released the following statement:

“America’s vaccine-induced recovery is now in danger as evidenced by first-time jobless claims remaining stubbornly high. The policies of the Biden Administration are keeping job creation lower than it should be. As more kids return to college, that will further cripple short-staffed small businesses. The only silver lining is that 26 governors reduced the unemployment benefits in their states, motivating workers to rejoin the labor force. At the national level, these benefits will expire in September, and under no circumstance should Congress extend them. Biden’s record spending is causing record inflation.  And with real wages falling behind inflation, the result is the ‘Biden pay cut.’ Biden and the Democrats want to spend an additional $5 trillion on ‘human infrastructure,’ on top of the trillions they’ve already spent.  If they succeed, it will make the ‘Biden pay cut’ even bigger and our economy at every level will suffer.”
