Education Freedom Alliance Releases Statement on Stark Differences Between Republican and Democrat Education Policies

Leaders from the Education Freedom Alliance released the following statements on the stark differences between Republican and Democrat education policies:

Alfredo Ortiz, CEO of Job Creators Network:

“Education freedom is a major wedge issue in this year’s election. Republicans have enshrined universal school choice in their platform, while Democrats want to double down on the failing union-dominated status quo. Republicans want education funding to follow the child at the choice of families. Democrats want funding plowed into schools and unions no matter how poorly they perform, ignoring family wishes. A vote for Republicans is a vote for education freedom to empower every student to get a good education. A vote for Democrats is a vote to keep students trapped in failing schools that warehouse rather than educate them.”

Secretary Bill Bennett, Senior Education Policy Advisor to Job Creators Network Foundation:

“Kamala Harris will bow to her teachers union donors and use every federal lever possible to block education scholarship accounts that offer families a lifeline from failing public schools. By contrast, Donald Trump is committed to universal education freedom, which allows every student to get the quality education they need and deserve. Trump places an emphasis on math, reading, and science that students need to get ahead. Democrats elevate gender ideology and social engineering that have no place in school classrooms and have contributed to American students’ failing test scores.”

Lisa Nelson, CEO of ALEC Action:

“Republicans and Democrats offer voters a clear choice on education policy up and down the November ballot. With the help of the Education Freedom Alliance and Republican state leaders, twelve states have passed universal education freedom programs to empower parents and help all students thrive. Following the lead of these states, the new GOP platform made history by calling for universal education freedom nationwide. But Democrats are blocking them at every turn. Their education priority is increasing dues payments to their teachers union donors, rather than giving every student – regardless of family income or zip code – the opportunity to succeed.”
