Democrats Celebrate National Small Business Week By Proposing New Taxes on Small Businesses, Job Creators Network Reacts

Washington, DC (September 14, 2021) – President Biden recently proclaimed this week (September 12-18) as National Small Business Week. On Monday, House Democrats proposed tax increases to pay for $3.5 trillion in “human infrastructure” spending. The Democrats’ plan raises the top corporate and individual tax rates to 26.5% and 39.6%, respectively, and enacts a capital gains tax of 25%. President Biden has made similar proposals.

Alfredo Ortiz, Job Creators Network President and CEO, released the following statement:

“It’s fitting that President Biden proclaimed this week as National Small Business Week and on the very first workday of his proclamation, Democrats in Congress proposed a record tax increase. You can’t make this stuff up. Biden’s policies have already created immense damage – rampant inflation, a record labor shortage, and an unconstitutional vaccine mandate. Now we’re seeing the predictable tax hike.  That’s why JCN is continuing our Bring Small Businesses Back Bus Tour – to raise awareness about the Democrats’ destructive policies and rally Americans around a positive, pro-growth alternative.”

Today, JCN continued its national Bring Small Businesses Back Bus Tour with an event in Waukesha, Wisconsin. Covering at least seven states over four weeks, the BSBB bus tour consists of events with Members of Congress and local small business leaders and is part of JCN’s seven-figure BSBB campaign. To see photos of the bus and the full bus tour schedule, click here.
