Soaring Consumer Confidence Lifts Small Business, Says Job Creators Network
Washington, D.C. (August 28, 2018)—Consumer confidence is at its highest level in nearly two decades, another indication that the U.S. economy is white-hot, says the Job Creators Network (JCN). A new report released today by the Conference Board shows that the Consumer Confidence Index has risen to 133.4, up 5.5 points since last month.
“President Trump and supporters in Congress have been busy implementing pro-business, pro-worker policies and now we are reaping the rewards,” said Alfredo Ortiz, JCN President and CEO. “The fact that consumers are more confident now than they have been since 2000 is proof that the current economic strategy is working and should be continued.”
To highlight all the great economic news and give credit to where credit is due, JCN has embarked on a nationwide Tax Cuts Work Bus Tour—a campaign that is educating the public about the benefits of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act and thanking legislators for their part in its passage. “It’s clear that one of the dominant forces driving our strong economy is the tax cuts legislation that was passed last year. Because of the tax relief, more people have jobs, more people have higher wages, and, most importantly, small businesses are able to invest in themselves and their communities. The tax cuts should be made permanent so this success can continue.”
