BLS Announces Significant Downward Revision in Job Creation Last Year

Alfredo Ortiz, president and CEO of Job Creators Network, released the following statement in response to the Bureau of Labor Statistics concluding today that 306,000 fewer jobs were created between March 2022 and March 2023 than reported by the agency’s monthly jobs reports:
“BLS payroll data reveals that the monthly job creation numbers that President Biden and his media allies have championed to gaslight the American public about the strength of the economy are significantly inflated. Today’s benchmark data downwardly revises job creation between March 2022 and March 2023 by 306,000 jobs, an average of 25,000 fewer jobs per month. The labor market has never been as strong as the topline numbers suggest, and now we know that even the topline numbers are far more moderate than initially thought. Today’s significant downward revision in job creation brings economic reality in line with what small businesses are reporting in JCNF’s monthly SBIQ poll.”
