Biden’s Build Back Better Bill Passes in the House, Moves on to Senate, Job Creators Network Reacts

Washington, DC (November 19, 2021) — Today, the House passed Biden’s Build Back Better bill, which is now moving on to the Senate.

Alfredo Ortiz, President and CEO of Job Creators Network, released the following statement:

“From the very start of the push for the Build Back Broke bill, Biden and the Democrats have been disingenuous to the American people at every turn. First they said the bill would “cost zero dollars,” while CBO said the bill will add $800 billion to the deficit over the next 5 years. Now, Democrats are duping the American people again by claiming they “cut” the size of the bill while knowing it’s only an illusion and a huge amount of programs will never be pulled back. Free childcare, for example, scored only for one year will cost $130 billion- that program is unlikely to ever be pulled back, meaning the true cost is $1.3 trillion. This is just one of many programs that have long term costs attached. The Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget estimates that when you include the true cost of sunsets and expirations in the bill the gross cost more than doubles to nearly $5 trillion. Now that the bill has passed in the House, we urge Senator Manchin and other moderate Democrats to stand against this bill that has been grossly misrepresented to the American people.”
