ALERT: FORMER HHS SECRETARY DR. TOM PRICE SLAMS BIDEN ADMINISTRATION FOR WAIVING I.P. RIGHTS TO COVID VACCINES

This week, the Biden Administration waived intellectual property rights to Covid-19 vaccines and treatments and encouraged other countries to do the same.

Dr. Tom Price, former Secretary of Health and Human Services and a senior healthcare policy fellow at the Job Creators Network (JCN) released the following statement:

“This is a terrible mistake.  By waiving Intellectual Property rights for the Covid vaccines, the Biden Administration is sending a chilling message to innovators: Your I.P is not safe, we will seize it whenever and however we want.  We will even encourage our foreign competitors to do the same.  The ultimate consequence is that America will experience less innovation in the pharmaceutical industry, and indeed, all industries. We will weaken the motivation to develop life-saving breakthroughs, like the Covid vaccines, that benefit so many people here and around the world. This will drastically harm the quality of care available to all Americans. The term socialism gets tossed around a lot these days. Socialism means the control of the production and distribution of goods and services by the government. There’s no point in sugar-coating it: This is socialism, pure and simple. It is dangerous and, like all forms of socialism, the ones who will be hurt most are the ones it claims to benefit.”
