ALERT: BIDEN ADVANCES “WAR ON SMALL BUSINESS” IN CONGRESSIONAL ADDRESS, JCN REACTS

Tonight, President Biden delivered his first address to a joint session of Congress.

“The President made it clear tonight – his campaign was the biggest ‘bait and switch’ in history,” said Alfredo Ortiz, President and CEO of the Job Creators Network (JCN). “During the campaign, Joe Biden promised to unify Americans, to work with Republicans in a bipartisan way, and to listen to small businesses to grow our economy.  None of that has happened. Instead, Biden is pushing a ‘war on small business’ – raising taxes, doubling the minimum wage, imposing onerous regulations, and demanding a government takeover of our healthcare system. Small businesses are already reeling after a year of government-imposed lockdowns.  We are finally getting some breathing room because of the vaccine. President Biden could be an advocate for small businesses – continuing his predecessor’s policies that created the greatest economy in history.  But he is beholden to his left-wing base, as we saw during tonight’s speech. Republicans in Congress and centrist Democrats must resist this lurch toward socialism.  JCN will do its part, educating and motivating Americans about the stakes involved.  2021 may turn out to be one of the most important years in American history.”

Today, JCN released a backgrounder, “Biden and the Democrats’ War on Small Business.” The backgrounder summarizes the Democrats’ job-killing agenda in four areas: taxes, the minimum wage, lockdowns, and the PRO Act. To read it, click here.
