JCN Urges House to Pass Bills That Rein In Executive Overreach

Alfredo Ortiz, president and CEO of Job Creators Network, released the following statement urging the House to pass legislation that would rein in executive overreach and make clear that Congress – not unelected bureaucrats – is responsible for making our nation’s laws.

“For too long Main Street has suffered as unaccountable federal bureaucrats issue new mandates that add to the paperwork and regulatory requirements small business owners must wade through just to stay in business. JCN urges the House to pass the Regulations from the Executive In Need of Scrutiny (REINS) Act, which would require congressional review and approval of any major rules coming out of the Administration with a price tag of $100 million or more. Additionally, the Separation of Powers Restoration Act would reaffirm that Congress makes the nation’s laws and provides an avenue for Congress and the American people to challenge Presidential orders in court that exceed executive power.”
