A Reprieve from a Disastrous Bill

On Dec. 26th, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit put a pause on the Corporate Transparency Act (CTA).The CTA is unprecedented executive overreach and threatens millions of ordinary small businesses with large fines and even jail time for noncompliance with this burdensome rule that JCNF polling finds nearly two-thirds of small businesses don’t even know about.

This injunction is good news, but it’s only temporary. JCN has joined other advocacy groups in filing an amicus brief and will continue to fight to ensure small businesses never have to face this unnecessary burden.

It’s wonderful to have small business champions at the helm in Washington, but their success will still require the help of freedom-loving Americans speaking up about what our nation needs.
