Heidi Ganahl is the Founder and previous CEO of the largest pet care franchise company in the world. After dealing with adversity early in her life, she started the business in 2000 with one Denver Camp Bow Wow—eventually building the company into a $100 million business with more than 200 franchises in the U.S. and Canada, hitting the Inc 500/5000 list 5 years in a row. For this effort, she was named one of Fortune Magazine’s Top 10 Most Promising Entrepreneurs, and honored with the 2016 Colorado Brave Leader Award.
After selling Camp Bow Wow a few years ago, Heidi dedicated herself to “giving back.” She was elected state-wide to the Board of Regents of the University of Colorado and is on several other boards focusing on entrepreneurship and education. She also founded the Fight Back Foundation, an incubator built to support social entrepreneurs that want to tackle the most pressing issues confronting kids in Colorado today. In 2015, she was appointed by the Governor of Colorado to the School Safety and Youth in Crisis Committee—established to study issues relating to school safety. She is involved with the Job Creators Network, a national small business advocacy group, chairing both their board and Governors Committee. Heidi is also a leader in Colorado on workforce development through her involvement with Colorado Succeeds.
She started her career by attending the University of Colorado at Boulder for a bachelor’s degree in Business, and eventually went on to receive a master’s degree in Healthcare Administration from the University of Denver. Heidi is married to one of the top BBQ cooks in the country and has four children.
